Appointment of an Independent Person
As part of the national reforms to strengthen governance across the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS), Lancashire County Council, as administering authority of Lancashire County Pension Fund (LCPF), is seeking an Independent Person to provide impartial strategic advice, challenge and assurance on Investments, Governance and Administration to its Pension Fund Committee and Investment Panel.
LCPF is one of the largest funds within the LGPS, with assets of over £12bn and provides pension savings for over 200,000 members and around 350 employers. Investment Management is undertaken by LPPI Holdings Limited, a joint venture between 9 LGPS Funds. Pensions administration services are delivered by Local Pensions Partnership Administration Limited, while overall Fund governance is overseen in-house by dedicated Fund officers.
This is a new non-voting advisory role that will play an important role in further promoting and enhancing good governance as part of the Fund’s responsibility to be accountable and transparent to its members and employers.
The appointment will commence from June 2026 and will run for a three-year term.
